Community Development Coordinator
Barbara Knisely was promoted to Community Development
Coordinator in July of
2010, after serving as the Building and Zoning Clerk since 2006. The
Community Development Coordinator's primary function is to work with the
community to seek improved quality of life opportunities for residents and
all who enter our jurisdiction. This position was created after the
2009 Resident Survey conducted by Whitehouse Village Council Members
showed Village residents want more community events in the Village.
Ms. Knisely's duties include planning and scheduling events in the Village
Park (concerts, car shows, Farmers' Market, and other family
events). She will work closely with the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce
and Council Members to assure a variety of events to entertain our
residents, both young and old.
Ms. Knisely will continue to serve as the Downtown Manager to administer the Community Development Block Grant used to revitalize the downtown district and as a liaison between business owners, residents, and Village staff. She will also continue to update and maintain the Village website and publish the quarterly Hometown Newsletter.
We are currently looking for residents who are interested in volunteering to help facilitate community events. Areas of volunteerism include musicians, gardeners, construction, general help, and any other areas of expertise residents might have. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Village Hall at 419-877-5383 to sign up.
If you have questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to call or e-mail Barbara at bknisely@whitehouseoh.gov.
