Councilmember
Donald Atkinson was sworn in on January 3, 2012 to serve his first term as an
elected official for the Village of Whitehouse. Mr. Atkinson can be reached at datkinson@whitehouseoh.gov

Mr. Atkinson is currently a Director with the Lucas County Sheriff's Office,
serving since 1977. As the Sheriff's Auxiliary Liaison, he
supervises a group of deputies who volunteer about 7000 hours yearly to a
variety of charitable organizations. Mr. Atkinson is also a volunteer employee with the
United States Department of Defense, for the Employer Support of the National
Guard and Reserve.
Mr. Atkinson serves on the Board of Directors for Compass Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Services. Prior to his election to the Whitehouse Village Council Mr. Atkinson served on the Anthony Wayne Board of Education for 20 years. Mr. Atkinson has been recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives for outstanding public service, the Governor of the State of Ohio for his outstanding contribution to public education, and the Director of the F.B.I. for exemplary service while conducting joint law enforcement operations. Mr. Atkinson's professional associations include: Vice President of the Anthony Wayne Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, The F.B.I. National Academy Associates, the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association, the Ohio School Boards Association, and the Whitehouse American Legion, Sons Association. Mr. Atkinson and his wife Barbara have resided in Whitehouse for 31 years and have three children and five grandchildren.
